How the Housing Market Report Works: You’ll find the links to each monthly report below. Each report will show the activity for the month indicated in the boxes below.
[one-third-first]Each report will give the total number of homes sold in the specified city and zip code, the average sales price of the homes sold, and the median price of homes sold for that area.
The report will also provide the total number of residents from the most recent census data, and the total number of dwellings in this area.
What’s the Difference Between Average Sales Price, and Median Sales Price?
In real estate, half of the homes in an area sell above the median price, and half of the homes sell below the median price. So, the middle price.
The average—or “mean”—adds up all the sales prices of the homes sold, and divides by the number of houses sold. 1
Why is the Report from Two Months Ago?
Because the data has to be collected from various sources and verified for accuracy, the information available to us can be delayed by up to 60 days.
